If you really want to impress the search engines and develop a site that’s fast loading, I highly recommend the use of CSS. CSS stands for (C)ascading (S)tyle (S)sheets and they control how your web site looks. So, you could literally update just one file, usually called something.css on your web site and automatically change fonts, colors, backgrounds, etc throughout your web site.
On the other hand, see how smooth this other site is by comparison : Cbengine.com . It loads very quick and one change in its basic .css file can alter the entire look of the site. So, CSS makes it a cinch to change colors and layout.
The main reason for me to use .CSS though is the fact that search engine spiders can sail smoothly through your site, finding all your navigational links with ease and get their job done a lot faster than because you don’t have “heavy" HTML code all of the place. If you don’t want to use graphics for buttons, you can use CSS to accomplish the same thing. For example, rollover text . Coding errors can also upset the search engine spiders and they may simply bypass your site and move on to other pages that are easier to navigate through.
There many free CSS templates available for free if you spend a little time searching around google. There are also many tutorials available so you can learn about CSS properties and how to apply them.
Once you become proficient using CSS, it’s a breeze and your sites will look great, be search-engine friendly and load much faster.
